We're dedicated to providing our learners with a richer variety of authentic reading and listening practice, so we stepped into the creator marketplace space. The Immersion Hub is our platform designed to connect you directly with great native content, helping you apply your kanji knowledge in real-world contexts. And at the same time, learners get a chance to support their favorite artists and creators directly.
What's in the Immersion Hub?
The Immersion Hub is a growing library of authentic Japanese content spanning three main formats:
- Manga — Serialized comics with chapter-by-chapter reading
- Light Novels — Text-heavy stories for deeper reading practice
- Podcasts — Audio content with full Japanese transcripts you can read along with
Each piece of content is tagged with a difficulty level (Easy / Medium / Hard) and organized by genre — everything from Slice-of-life and Romance to Sci-fi, Isekai, Horror, and more. There are 14 genres to browse through.
Finding Content
The catalog has a full filtering and sorting system:
- Filter by content type — Manga, Light Novel, Podcast (multi-select)
- Filter by difficulty — Easy (初級), Medium (中級), Hard (上級)
- Filter by genre — 14 genres to choose from
- Sort by — Default, Highest Rated, Most Readers, or Newest
At the top of the hub, you'll also see a Most Loved carousel featuring the community's favorite content — it auto-rotates and highlights top-rated picks with star badges, ratings, reader counts, and author notes.
The Reader — Built for Learners
This isn't just a basic text viewer. The Immersion Hub reader is packed with tools designed specifically for Japanese learners:
Furigana
Reading aids displayed above kanji characters so you're never completely stuck. Great for bridging the gap between what you've learned and what you're encountering for the first time.
Tap-to-Define
Click on any word and get an instant definition popup. Click on a kanji specifically and get a detailed kanji breakdown — readings, meanings, the works. No more tabbing out to a dictionary.
AI Sentence Breakdown
Tap on a full sentence and get an AI-generated explanation breaking down the grammar and vocabulary. This is huge for understanding sentence structure in context.
Audio Playback
Every sentence has a play button for text-to-speech pronunciation. For podcasts, you get the native audio synced to the transcript — click any line to jump to that segment, and use spacebar to play/pause.
Adjustable Font Size
5 font size options so you can read comfortably on any device. Mobile automatically defaults to the smallest size to fit more text on screen.
Bookmarks & Auto-Save
Your reading position is automatically saved every time you read. Come back tomorrow, next week, whenever — you'll pick up right where you left off. No manual bookmarking needed.

How Coins Work in the Immersion Hub
Content in the Immersion Hub is purchased with coins — the same coins you earn by studying kanji.
Earning Coins
- Complete quiz reviews to earn coins based on your performance
- Level up (finish all 20 kanji in a level) for a bonus coin reward
- Need more? Visit the Coin Shop to purchase additional coins directly
Your coin balance is always visible in the navigation bar so you know where you stand.
Spending Coins
When you find content you want to read, here's how it works:
- Try before you buy — Every piece of content has a free sample (up to 10 pages) so you can preview the difficulty, writing style, and overall vibe before committing
- Purchase with coins — When you're ready, hit the purchase button. A confirmation modal shows you the price, your current balance, and confirms that you'll have permanent access after buying
- Start reading — You're taken straight into the reader
Manga is priced per chapter, so you can buy as you go. Light novels and podcasts are priced per series for the full work.
If you don't have enough coins, you'll be redirected to the Coin Shop to top up.

Your Library
Everything you've purchased or sampled lives in My Library, accessible from the Immersion Hub navigation.
Your library shows:
- Total Titles you own
- In Progress — content you're currently reading
- Completed — content you've finished
Content is organized into sections: Sampling, In Progress, and Completed. You can switch between a visual grid view and a detailed table view that shows progress bars, difficulty, ratings, and quick-access buttons.
Completed content gets a green badge and a "Read Again" button if you want to revisit it.
Supporting Creators
The Immersion Hub isn't just a content library — it's a marketplace for creators. Every manga artist, light novel author, and podcast creator on the platform gets their own presence:
- Author profiles with bio and social links (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok)
- Content credited directly to the creator on every card and detail page
- Coins spent on their content go toward supporting them directly
We believe the best way to learn Japanese is through content you genuinely enjoy — and the best way to get great content is to support the people making it.
